In the first episode of the first season. We are introduced to Leonard and Sheldon. They are scientists and lack the social communication barriers that others would which inflicts the awkwardness in this episode. They live together and study/ work in the same university. They are met with a new neighbour, Penny. She’s in her early 20’s, works at a cheesecake factory as a waitress and recently separated with her significant other after a 4 year relationship. By now we can see that, this greatly impacts her as she shows affection in tears around midway through the episode. Raj and Howard are presented with a knock on the door. Leonard opens and they walk in with excitement to watch a Stephen hawking speech in 1974.

 

Chronology

Chronology is used to plan this episode. The structure was to formally introduce each character mentioned above so that we’d get a clear picture of their personality and develop an understanding for what each actor’s roles are.

Subjective

In this Pilot episode, feelings are flying around when Leonard meets Penny. Where Leonard is awkward, smart and shy. Penny was popular, beautiful and has a lower IQ. Leonard is attracted to her, this is suggested when he states “our babies will be smart and beautiful” which refers to their personality’s and

Task 1b

Task 1b http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b047hjf9 A Very British Airline Format : Series / seasons documentary. This series is set out in documentaries and seasons of episodes, hence the “Format”. There is no upper age limit or restrictions to minors. Each episode gives an insight of different areas and roles on the selected airport in regards to British Airways. It is filmed and edited professionally. They go about their day to day chosen career paths and show the expertise they must enforce. In addition, how they deal with and solve issue such as delays, cancelled flights and missing passengers etc. This all tells us a story, rather exciting to watch as well because usually advertisements take over on cliffhangers, for example just when a passenger is found with drugs etc. They teach us the ups and downs to the job and what it takes to manage the chosen airport.
